Support services

Each of the Maricopa Community Colleges provides their students with a full complement of instructional and technical assistance in learning environments that allow students the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve academic success.  In addition to supporting you as a student, we also care about you as a person and a member of our extended family.   But as a student, you have to seek out the available resources when you need them.  In fact, it is best if you familarize yourself with them before you face a problem.  That way, you'll know where to go to for assistance when you actually need it.

Don't forget, your professors can be your single greatest resource.  Ask questions and participate in discussions online or in class.  Set up an appointment or drop in during office hours.  They are there to help you.

Specialized learning support services are available at every college and can include free tutoring, disability services for special accommodations, assistance with computer connections, interent access, support with various software applications, student success courses (study skills, test taking, time management, stress management, etc.), writing centers, personal "coaching", advocacy and mediation when needed, early intervention, crisis management and counseling.

Each Maricopa Community College provides a full array of services and support personal to assist you.  They may package them differently, locate them in different offices, and perhaps even use different names for what they offer.  You should check out what support services are available at your college and how to access them to further your success.  Don't be afraid to simply ask.
