For this step, you will need:

  • Your printed and completed My.maricopa Cheat Sheet with your MEID and Student ID.  NOTE: Your completed Cheat Sheet should include a your choice of academic plan, college, and term. If you have not completed this portion of your Cheat Sheet, please do so now.  If you have not already printed out your Cheat Sheet you can print one now if you need to.
  • Wait at least 20 minutes after your MEID and Student ID have been created before starting this step or you will not be able to log into your Student Center
  • Residency information:
    • Proof of US Citizenship  -or-
    • Non-native US Citizens will need to provide information on their immigration status, such as, documentation type, date of issue, expiration date and registration number.
  • MCCCD Admission Policy:
If you are a student who falls into any of the following categories, you may want to look at the MCCCD Admission Policy:
    • students under 18 years of age
    • students entering a specialized vocational / training program
    • students entering through the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program
    • students who are entering as a F-1 nonimmigrant student.
The admissions process at the Maricopa Community Colleges is pretty straight forward.  You will go to your online Student Center to complete a Student Information Form (SIF) for the college of your choice.  Complete the form and you’re officially admitted to that college and, in most cases, ready to register for classes.  It’s that simple!
If you didn’t write down your Student ID when you created your MEID, you will have an opportunity to retrieve your Student ID in this step.

Important notes:
  • To qualify for in-state tuition, you will have to provide copies of supporting documentation, such as AZ Driver’s License, completed FAFSA, US Passport, etc.  You will need to fax, mail, email, or bring in the supporting documents to the college Admissions and Records Office to receive in-state tuition. Learn more at www.maricopa.edu/residency
  • If you are under 18 and do not have a GED or diploma you will not be able to register for classes online.  The application will give you a Warning Message when you complete the Admissions process.  Click OK.  Dual enrollment students do not need to visit the college in person to register for dual enrollment classes.
  • If you are an online student taking classes while residing out of state, note that only some Maricopa colleges are able to serve out-of-state students, and you will not be able to register at other colleges. See the following links for more information:

Steps:

  1. Log into your online Student Center
    • You will need your MEID and password that you created using the MEID Wizard (see your Cheat Sheet if you forgot your MEID).
    • Log in with your new MEID by either clicking on the Student Center button or this link.
  2. Click on the Admissions link and then select the college, program, and term of your choice:
    • Click on “Admissions”
    • Select the College of your choice and then enter the Program and Term. These should be listed on your Cheat Sheet.
      • Use the drop down arrow to select the college of your choice.
      • Your Program options are Degree and Cert Programs or Non Credit.  Select the Degree and Cert Programs option if you want to register into credit bearing classes leading to a certificate or a degree, or classes that you want to transfer.  Select the Non Credit option if you only plan to take non-credit classes. If you select the wrong option, you will not be able to register for classes and will need to complete the Student Information Form again. The appropriate choice for most students is Degree and Cert Programs
      • Select the term (also known as Semester) that you intend to start your first class. Be sure to select the earliest term that you plan to register for. For example, if you plan to register for both Summer and Fall, select the Summer term.
    • Click on Next.
    • Please note that in order to be eligible for in-state tuition you will need to submit (via fax, mail, email, or in person) a document that shows your citizenship or legal residency in the United States.
    • Click on the Continue button to continue the admission process.
  3. Enter your Personal Demographics
    • Enter or verify your personal identifying information, such as, full legal name, date of birth, gender, social security number, and contact information.
    • NOTE: Since there are hundreds of thousands of students who have enrolled in the Maricopa Community Colleges, we highly recommend that you use your full legal name to help differentiate you from other students with similar names.
    • Continue to enter your personal demographic information.  The Maricopa Community Colleges ask for racial/ethnic background information to comply with federal reporting requirements.  This voluntary information is used for federal reporting and statistical purposes and will not affect your admissions.  However, the information does help the Maricopa Community Colleges when they are applying for grants and are researching the success of our programs in serving the needs of our students.  The information is always analyzed and presented in an aggregate format so that no individuals are ever identified.  Your participation is greatly appreciated.
  4. Enter your Military and Residency Information
    • Please note that complete information is required on the Residency questions.  Along with your citizenship status, the information in this section will determine whether you are eligible for in-state tuition.  If you have any questions or need any additional information, you are encouraged to visit the MCCCD Residency and Citizenship Resources
    • If you answer that you will reside in Arizona at the time of attendance, you will be presented with several additional questions designed to establish your residency dates.  If you have been in Arizona your entire life, the date of your present stay began is your birth date.
    • If you answer that you will not be residing in Arizona at the time of attendance, you will be considered as an out-of-state student for tuition purposes.  Only some Maricopa colleges are authorized to offer classes out-of-state (see note at the top of the page)
    • If you were not born in Arizona, enter the date that you moved to Arizona.  The application will then ask you to enter the state that you most recently resided in prior to arriving in Arizona.  Then it will ask you what Arizona county you currently reside in.  All counties in the state except for Apache and Greenlee have reciprocity agreements with Maricopa County, meaning you will pay in-county tuition.
    • For questions regarding Residency and Citizenship compliance at MCCCD, see MCCCD Residency and Citizenship Resources.
  5. Complete the Citizenship/Driver’s License Information
    • Leave the driver’s license field blank if you do not have a driver’s license/permit or a State ID.
  6. Complete the Educational Goals, Academic Plans information
    • Are you seeking admission under the Western Undergraduate Exchange Program? This program is available to residents of Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. For more information on WUE, see http://wiche.edu/wue
    • Enter your Academic Plan Code.  You should have your plan code on your Cheat Sheet.
      • Selecting the appropriate Academic Plan is very important. You will not be able to change it later without staff assistance, and the plan you select will impact your Financial Aid. If you are not sure which academic plan to select, visit the Pick a Program step
    • Complete the Vehicle Emissions Agreement.
  7. Important Admissions Information Warning
    • As part of your Congratulations message, you may receive a message that your “residency status is currently set to Out-of-State for the purpose of calculating your tuition and fee charges”.  This message means that you still need to submit your supporting documents for residency to your college.  Documents may be faxed, mailed, emailed, or submitted in-person to the Admissions and Records Office.
    • For more information, please visit MCCCD Residency and Citizenship Resources.
  8. Verify Your Student Information Form (SIF) Data Entry
    • Log into your online Student Center to verify that you have successfully entered your student information data and been admitted to the college.
  9. Congratulations!
    • You are now officially admitted to one of the Maricopa Community Colleges!
